Toby's Favorite Koren BBQ with Chef Toby Kim
Chef Toby grew up learning the traditions of Korean cooking from his mother and grandmother. Join him in the BSC kitchen as he shares a menu that reflects his heritage and what he likes best, including, Korean BBQ or Samgyeopsal Gui, which is grilled pork belly lettuce wraps with Pajeori, green onion salad and Ssamjang, a spicy sauce. Other dishes include Doenjang-jjigae, Korean miso stew with shrimp and tofu, Maeun Ttukbaegi Gyeranjjim, spicy and savory egg steamed in an earthenware bowl, Baeshu Geotjeori, fresh Napa cabbage kimchi, Kongnamul-Muchim, a soybean sprout side dish, and Steamed Rice. Serving the Olympia area since 1994, Marv’s knows how to smoke meat! If you’ve ever thought you’d like to learn the secrets of slow cooking on the grill and smoking your own food at home, now is your chance! Lance and Chris, owners of Marv’s Catering, return to BSC to demonstrate the process with an enticing menu that begins with an appetizer of Cajun Jumbo Shrimp. They’ll demonstrate their techniques on their large commercial smoker, cooking up St. Louis Style Ribs, and Best Barbecue Salmon with Texas Spuds and Marv’s Coleslaw as the delicious sides. You’ll soon be impressing friends and family with your own smoking techniques! Complementary beer pairing. $60

Hood Canal Food and Wine Tour with Cristina Stormans and Leanne Willard
Join Cristina and Leanne as we visit Mason County producers to learn more about the faces and places that provide us with food and drinks! After picking up your favorite drink from Dancing Goats Espresso Bar by 8:30 am, we’ll all load into our comfy van. The adventure begins at local Blue Heron Bakery, where we’ll taste some of their delectable pastries, and a tour of Taylor Shellfish Farms (please wear closed-toed shoes and bring a jacket!). Another short tour and a family-style lunch follows at Hama Hama Oyster Saloon in Lilliwaup (there will be options for those who don’t like oysters, but it will be seafood!) and afterward, we’ll enjoy an Olympic Mountain ice cream cone at Hoodsport Coffee. Then it’s off to Hardware Distillery and Walter Dacon Wines to enjoy samples in their tasting rooms. $95 per person
All participants must be 21 years of age and tasting fees are included in the price of tour.
